Fernanda Tórtima

Founding partner of Bidino & Tórtima Advogados, Fernanda Tórtima built her entire career working with ​​Criminal Law. She has a bachelor's degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC Rio, and a master's and postgraduate degrees from European universities. Tórtima played relevant role at the Brazilian Bar Association in Rio de Janeiro (OAB/RJ) and is also a member of the Brazilian Lawyers Institute (IAB). Her expertise allows for an earnest and dedicated approach to every case, always bearing in mind the needs of each client.



Having earned her Bachelor of Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC Rio, Fernanda Tórtima also holds a master's degree in Law (Magistra Legum) from the University of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She has also earned a postgraduate degree in Economic Criminal Law from a partnership between the University of Coimbra and the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences.

Fernanda was both a counselor and chairwoman of the Defense, Assistance and Prerogatives Commission of OAB/RJ, in the 2010/2012 triennium; deputy secretary of OAB/RJ, in the 2013/2015 triennium, and effective counselor in the 2016/2018 triennium. In addition, she is also a member of the IAB.

Among her main published works, we can mention 'Evasão de Divisas': a criticism of the territorial concept of outflow of foreign exchange as described in the sole paragraph of article 22 of Brazilian Law 7492. It is also worth noting the curation process developed in a partnership with Luís Greco for the book 'O Bem Jurídico como Limitação do Poder Estatal de Incriminar?', with translations of articles originally written by German authors.

Claudio Bidino

Founding partner of Bidino & Tórtima Advogados, Claudio Bidino has been working with Criminal Law cases for over 15 years. With two master's degrees earned abroad, one at the University of Oxford and the other at the University of Coimbra, Bidino was a professor in postgraduate courses at IBMEC, as well as at the Institute of Education and Research of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro and at other educational institutions across the country. He is the author of books, legal opinions and articles mainly on Corporate Criminal Law.



With a bachelor's degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC Rio, Claudio Bidino has a master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford, in England. He has also earned a master's degree in Criminal Law and a postgraduate degree in Economic and European Criminal Law from the University of Coimbra, in Portugal. He also took part in an extension course in Corporate Criminal Law at PUC Rio, as well as a summer course in International Criminal Law at the University of Leiden (Netherlands), a course on Fundamental Problems of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the University of Gottingen (Germany), a specialization course on Corruption, Organized Crime and Terrorism at the University of Salamanca (Spain) and a workshop on Negotiation at Harvard Law School (US).

He was a professor in the postgraduate course in Corporate Law offered by IBMEC (module: 'Criminal Responsibility in Business Activity'), as well as in the postgraduate course in Criminal Sciences offered by the Education and Research Institute of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro (modules: 'Crimes against the National Financial System and the Popular Economy' and 'Contemporary Criminological Thoughts'); in the Compliance extension course offered by Cândido Mendes University in partnership with IUPERJ (module: 'Foreign Anti-Corruption and Bribery Legislation'); in the Criminal Law course offered by the College of Criminal Law in Rio de Janeiro (module: 'Corruption: a Dogmatic and Jurisprudential Analysis').

Bidino is the author of legal opinions, books and scientific articles published in Brazil and abroad, among which a piece published in Portugal stands out: 'A Corrupção – Reflexões (A Partir da Lei, da Doutrina e da Jurisprudência) sobre o seu Regime Jurídico-Criminal em Expansão no Brasil e em Portugal'. He worked with co-authors Professor Cláudia Cruz Santos, from the University of Coimbra, and Judge Débora Thaís de Melo.

He is a permanent foreign collaborator of Revista Portuguesa de Ciência Criminal (Portuguese Journal of Criminal Law), in addition to being an effective member of the Criminal Law Commission of the Brazilian Lawyers Institute, the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences, the British Society of Criminology and the American Society of Criminology. André Galvão

Former Legal Advisor to the Civil House of the State of Rio de Janeiro, André Galvão has earned a postgraduate degree in Public and Private Law from Rio de Janeiro State Magistrates School (EMERJ), and in International Relations from Cândido Mendes University (UCAM). Nowadays he is working towards his LLM in Compliance at Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV Rio).
